A Nightmare on Elm Street cinematographer Jacques Haitkin has passed away. Born in New York State on August 29, 1950, Haitkin studied at both NYU and the American Film Institute before getting his start in Hollywood on low-budget films, especially horror.

At the time, he was residing in an assisted living facility in San Francisco. He is survived by his sons Harry and Zak, as well as his niece, producer Meri Haitkin.
