According to the Long-Term Recovery Committee, as of February, 10 homes with damage were fully funded.
“There’s a large variety of all needs but we’re here to focus on every single client and we’re here for the long-term to make sure that we have a complete recovery in our community before we call it a day,” said Christian Park, construction supervisor. “It’s very special for me to be able to knock on their front door and give them a hug and say we’re here to start work,” Park said.
According to the Long-Term Recovery Committee, as of February, ten homes with damage were fully funded. One hundred cases were closed and 12 were preparing to go before the funding table. Hood explains rebuilding is not a 12-month feat. The committee expects it will be another year before all homes are repaired that could be funded either by insurance or through other funds.
“Any person that’s had any experience with construction knows that right now to get windows is a lot of time a six month wait,” Hood explained, “when you’ve got an entire community that’s looking to make repairs like that now suddenly, we’re having supply demand problem like some place like Keller or Frisco.”
