Steven Yeun discusses his character's potential for redemption in Invincible Season 3, acknowledging that while some may see Omni-Man as a hero, full forgiveness may be unattainable. Yeun hints at surprising developments in Omni-Man's relationship with Allen the Alien, suggesting a deeper exploration of his character beyond his past actions.
Steven Yeun recently discussed his character's role in Season 3 , addressing his potential redemption. He confirmed that some will view Nolan Grayson as a hero, while others will not forgive him. Season 3 will explore his vulnerability and evolving relationships, including developments with Allen the Alien.Omni-Man, or Nolan Grayson, committed mass slaughter on Earth and genocide across planets, making him one of Invincible’s most feared villains.
With Season 3 approaching, his redemption arc is gaining focus. In an interview, when asked if Nolan could ever be forgiven, Yeun responded, “I love that that’s a question… it would have been pretty tedious to play through seasons of him just being the biggest, baddest guy on the block. And I think being able to explore some vulnerability and some self-doubt even is really an interesting journey.” This suggests that Nolan’s redemption is being explored as a meaningful arc rather than a simple resolution. Yeun also acknowledged that while some might view Omni-Man as a hero, full redemption may be impossible. “You definitely can’t please all the people all the time, right? So I think, yeah, there will be some, I think, who will hail Omni-Man and/or Nolan as a hero. But, yeah, it’s never going to be, you know—I mean, that’s the way the world is.” This aligns with the show’s grounded approach to complex morality, emphasizing that absolution is not universal.Invincible Season 3 will introduce new dynamics, including Omni-Man’s evolving relationship with Allen the Alien. Yeun hinted at unexpected developments, stating, “We see a relationship between Omni-Man and Allen the Alien that kind of goes to some surprising places.” This indicates Omni-Man’s arc will extend beyond just his relationship with Mark Grayson, further shaping his potential redemption.
