... [+]Mini LEDs are all the rage in the TV market right now and the technology has proved a great way of improving image quality on screens without the expense of an OLED screen. Mini LED is a relatively new technology and is beginning to appear in non-TV products like computer monitors and laptops.
An OLED screen has rich blacks and vibrant colors because every pixel on the screen is a light source. Regular LED screens also use colored pixels, but they can only be seen by shining a backlight behind them. The problem with standard LED backlights is that any difference in the brightness of the lights can show up as uneven lighting, with streaks and washed-out blacks.
Innocn is a computer monitor brand I’ve featured before and now the company has launched its first mini-LED monitor. The Innocn 27M2U 4K UHD Mini-LED uses an IPS panel backlit with mini-LED backlights for improved color accuracy and 1,000 cd/m2 peak brightness to ensure the whites are bright and the blacks are deeper. The monitor also has a dimming sensor, which automatically adjusts screen brightness to suit the lighting levels in the room where it’s being used....
