One of the remaining escaped Louisiana inmates who was on the run for nearly a week was finally captured, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.Omarion Hookfin, 19, was taken back into custody on Friday while Jamarcus Cyprian, 20, is still at large.Sherriff Daniel Edwards said the four inmates escaped on May 25 and May 26 while participating in recreation time on the yard.
Jail officials did not know about the breakouts until they received a phone call on Sunday from one of the escapees' family members, according to Chief Jimmy Travis. The relative had said two of the inmates came to a family member's home in the middle of the night looking for a place to stay.Newsweek attempted to reach out to the Tangipahoa Parish Sherrif's Office for a comment but did not hear back immediately.
