A married couple is suing Walt Disney World for negligence after the wife suffered 'severe and permanent bodily injury' from an 'injurious wedgie' while riding the Humunga Kowabunga water slide at the park's Typhoon Lagoon resort, according to the complaint.

A married couple is suing Walt Disney World for negligence and seeking $50,000 in damages after the wife suffered "severe and permanent bodily injury" from an "injurious wedgie" while riding the Humunga Kowabunga water slide at the park's Typhoon Lagoon resort, according to the complaint. A married couple has filed a lawsuit against Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, claiming the wife suffered an “injurious wedgie” on one of the theme park’s water slides.

The Humunga Kowabunga features a “near-vertical, 5-story drop” totaling 214 feet down the water slide and is the fastest and steepest water slide at the resort, according to Walt Disney World. Riders, who go down the slide without a raft, are instructed to keep their ankles crossed throughout the duration of the ride.

The injury led to “severe and permanent bodily injury” to her private area, and she began bleeding from between her legs, according to the lawsuit. Emma McGuinness was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for her injuries. The lawsuit claims Disney “was negligent and breached its duties of reasonable care” in failing to warn Emma McGuinness and other women about the water slide’s risk of injury.
