Cleveland's sidelined Cy Young starter shared some big news this week.
The 29-year-old southern California native joined his teammates at Dodger Stadium during their three-game weekend series against Los Angeles and said one of the biggest silver linings to his injury is being able to share the experience of his wife’s pregnancy and to be there for her, especially early on.
“Looking at guys that have come back from Tommy John and done it successfully, it’s like they do it on the correct timeline and there are reasons to push and there are situations where it’s good to do that, and the risk is worth the reward,” Bieber said. “But with my time and how everything kind of adds up and towards the middle of next season, these guys have done a great job at just taking care of me. It’s a good thing that I want to push, and it’s a good thing that they want to pull me back.
As for what the future holds beyond this season, the big question is whether or not Bieber will be back in a Cleveland uniform. A free agent this offseason, Bieber said with so much on his plate he is letting his representatives handle things so that he can focus on maintaining the correct perspective.
Likewise, Giménez is experiencing a power surge with three home runs in his last seven games. Prior to that, the 2022 All-Star second baseman had not homered in his 59 games, covering a career-long stretch of 210 homerless at-bats.
