UPDATE | Indiana State Police identified the man shot by state troopers this afternoon as a kidnapping suspect with an active warrant.
INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana State Trooper has been involved in a shooting near the intersection of 34th Street and Franklin Road on the east side.
The troopers engaged in a foot pursuit with the male and reported via their police radio that they were in pursuit with an armed suspect. Preliminary information has determined the man who fled from the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Mitez Harper, of Indianapolis, ran from troopers into a nearby neighborhood, carrying a handgun.
