The 2023 IndyStateFair has chosen its theme: 🏀 Pacers
is a storied one: basketball. The fair made the announcement Monday morning along with its title partner, Pacers Sports & Entertainment, on the basketball court at the Governor's Residence.
“The Indiana State Fair is an annual celebration of agriculture, entertainment, and what it means tobe a Hoosier,” Governor Eric Holcomb said in a written statement. “Perhaps the only other Hoosier tradition that brings together as many fans, as much nostalgia, and that sense of hometown pride is the love of basketball that’s swept our state for more than a century, which makes it the perfect theme for this year’s fair.
Visitors can expect to see the theme throughout several interactive experiences, including the basketball amusement park All-Star Court, exhibits honoring the game's history in Indiana, player meet-and-greets, and a daily moment that highlights top basketball stories.The fair also will explore the context around basketball in Indiana — how its affordability and season structured around farmers' planting and harvesting contributed to its growth.
