The independent commission investigating the Lewiston mass shooting is holding its 8th public meeting to continue its work to learn more about what happened.
Among those testifying on Thursday is U.S. Army Reservist Captain Jeremy Reamer . Reamer reportedly served with Robert Card in Saco and New York.Captain Reamer: “I think it’s a viable plan. It’s one that’s used often to have the family remove the personal firearms.”Captain Reamer: “No, I think the families can police their own.
And if the families don’t deem that they can’t police their own then they should seek local law enforcement for assistance.Captain Reamer: “They did, yes.”The meeting started at 9 a.m. at the University of Maine in Augusta.As well as the US Army Reserve, the commission is also hearing from ASL interpreters and members of the medical examiner’s office.
