“Children need to know they are loved, unique, special and created in the image and likeness of God,” St. Paul's pastor said of the decision to take on Sacred Heart School.
Historically, a Catholic church would open and sustain its own Catholic school.
Sacred Heart Church in Jersey City closed in 2005, but its school remained open. The Archdiocese of Newark and the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, who staff the school, sustained it since then.
