Who gets to host a mayoral debate in San Francisco?
Well, a few things.
“Historically, debates are held by neutral third parties like the League of Women Voters and media outlets, not political action committees that have already shown their partisan stripes,” said Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin, who was the first to decline to participate in the debate. Jade Tu, a former TogetherSF staffer now Farrell’s campaign manager, led an anti-Peskin rally outside Peskin’s campaign-launch event at Portsmouth Square in April. Farrell’s spokesperson, Jess Montejano, has also worked on behalf of TogetherSF and Neighbors for a Better SF.

Mr. Evers put me on top of many stumps,” Brown told The Examiner TogetherSF views its role in hosting the debate as similar to “other political, civic engagement, and neighborhood groups in providing a venue for candidates to make the case for why they should be Mayor, Kanishka Cheng said.
