When I was a young girl, my dad was the principal of Jeffreys Bay Christian School, one of the first multi-racial schools in our Province under the appalling apartheid era in South Africa.
I was about seven years old when I memorized my first passage, Psalm 1. As I’m about to release a Bible study on the Psalms calledIt has acted as a beautiful anchor and boundary for me that when I choose the ways of the Lord over the ways of man, my heart will flourish, and I will be deeply rooted in streams of living water. “For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
