What one Vogue writer thought of as “grandpa wear” is now a cool seasonal staple.
I can’t help but associate cardigans with my grandpa. Almost every day after high school, I would walk over to my grandparents’s house, and I distinctly remember that my grandpa was always dressed—usually, in a spiffy cardigan sweater, with dress slacks to match. He always looked incredibly stylish and put together. Problem is, I’ve always associated cardigans with octogenarian fashion since.
Troye Sivan, for one, paired a teal Miu Miu cardigan with a similar-hued tee underneath; Tina Kunakey took the same approach in beige, giving it a stealthy, monochromatic feel. Gigi Hadid wore a bright yellow cardigan from her own brand Guest in Residence to the airport, and the look was super stylish. I loved that she paired it with a white tee and jeans, and a pair of neutral Adidas Sambas.
