Lovely turnout on a lovely day

Two hundred walkers took part in a charity event which raised about £5,000 for different charities and good causes.

Many walkers said that the new route was very enjoyable, even though it was a little challenging. The main purpose of the walk is for walkers to raise money for the charity or good cause of their choice.The 109 Loyola Scouts,1st Oswaldtwistle St Paul’s Scouts, Police Cadets and Community Solutions, and individuals took up being sponsored. All concerned are thanked by the Walk organisers for their involvement. The group hopes that next year registrations will be back to pre Covid.

They say they are grateful to main corporate sponsor Howard Rigg Properties, and Scott Dawson Advertising for printing all the banners, leaflets and posters. Hyndburn Rotary Charity Walk has raised more than £450,000 over the past 18 years. l Giovanni Di Maio has entered the Hyndburn Charity Walk for the last 15 years and during this time he has raised substantial funds through sponsorship, which has all gone to the Anaphylaxis Society.
