If you are staying home, make sure you know the safest places.If you are sheltering in place during the storm, you should stay indoors away from any windows or glass fixtures. People should seek safety in a small interior room, according to the Harris County Flood Control District. If your home begins to flood while the electricity is still on, avoid standing water.
