The event features a rescue walk, food trucks, a beer garden and more than 80 vendors.
annual Bark in the Park fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lock 3 in downtown Akron.
Additional activities planned include a blessing of the animals, dog-agility demonstrations, live entertainment, contests and raffles. The humane society’s Mobile Adoption Center featuring adoptable pets will also be at the event. Community members and their dogs are invited to participate in the rescue walk, which supports the veterinary care provided to the 2,500 animals rescued each year in Summit County. The walk registration fee is $30, which includes an event T-shirt, a dog bandana and event admission. Participants don’t need to have a dog to walk. Register for the event
