Cuyahoga County sheriff’s deputies searched a home in the 14200 block of Potomac Avenue on Saturday in connection with a missing persons investigation involving a woman from Warrensville Heights, county spokesperson Jennifer Ciaccia said. The investigation led to a second search warrant in the 14000 block of Strathmore Avenue in East Cleveland, where the human remains were located in the backyard.
Sheriff’s deputies requested the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Crime Scene Unit to process the scene on Strathmore Avenue at about 2 a.m., a spokesperson said. Officials at the county medical examiner’s office also responded.East Cleveland police and fire officials, Cleveland Heights police and the Metroparks police canine unit assisted with the investigation.
