Howell wins both the boys and girls team championships at the Marisa Tufaro Classic. The tournament is a part of the Marisa Tufaro Foundation, which helps children in need throughout the Greater Middlesex County area.
Boys and girls bowlers from across the state came together at the Majestic Lanes in Hopelawn on Saturday for the 2024 edition of the Marisa Tufaro Classic to compete and bring holiday cheer to children in need.
Numerous college academic scholarships totaling $33,000 in Marisa’s name have also been awarded to high school seniors. Additional scholarships have been given out as well for elementary and middle school students to attend a weeklong summer art camp at Rutgers University’s Zimmerli Art Museum in New Brunswick.
Through the first three games, Howell recorded the top pin totals in both boys and girls to earn the top seeds heading into the Baker bracket. The Knights had 2,706 points to get the second seed for the girls. No. 6 Woodbridge and No. 16 Monroe followed to fill out the Baker girls bracket.
