'The Voice' season 24 debuted on Monday, Sept. 25, on NBC.
Last night, the four coaches - Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan and John Legend - began building their teams.Rainer sang one of McEntire’s hits, “Fancy.” With a four-chair turn, Rainer had her choice of judges and she chose - McEntire.Monday’s episode ended after Justine’s blind audition so fans will find out tonight which coach she chose.
During blind auditions, the coaches can hear but not see the artists. If the coach is interested, he or she hits a button to turn their chair to face the artist. If more than one coach turns, the artist gets to choose a coach. If no coaches turn their chairs, the artist is eliminated.NBC said the block is returning this season during blind auditions.
“The coach chairs each have an extra set of buttons with the other three coaches’ names on them, which prevents a coach from adding a new artist to his or her team. The coaches can only use their block buttons on one artist for the entire first round of the competition. The blocked coach only discovers they’re blocked if they press their button and though their chair will still turn, their lane lights up with ‘blocked.
