Jared Lorenzen might have once played for the 'enemy' Kentucky Wildcats but three former Louisville Cardinals have pledged to honor the memory of their former football rival.

“I guess you can say he was a legend and in the state of Kentucky, and for me, it's important to pay respect to those who came before me, whether they played for the University of Kentucky or Louisville,” Brown said in a telephone interview. In the 2002 Governor’s Cup meeting against Louisville, Lorenzen led the Wildcats to a 22-17 victory over the Cardinals.
