Baylor College of Medicine has an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position with a focus on identifying immune, inflammatory, metabolic, and epigenetic drivers of post-infectious morbidity and mortality.
The study will evaluate 300 pneumonia patient participants to identify which inflammatory, immune, transcriptomic, epigenomic, and metabolic marks are associated with post-pneumonia morbidity and mortality. Single cell technology will be implemented to identify drivers of post-infectious inflammation. Excellent applicants will need a wet lab experience in immunology, flow cytometry, and cellular metabolism, and should have a strong foundation in bioinformatic analysis. .
Implements and analyzes single cell RNA-Sequencing, single cell ATAC-Seq, CITE-Seq, as well as bulk RNA-Seq, Proteomics, Metabolomics, and Lipidomics datasets, generated from pneumonia tuberculosis patient cohorts with rich clinical data.Experience in epigenetics or gene regulation is a plus, and experience with statistical analysis tools such as R or Python is recommended .
Excellent written and verbal English skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and must be capable of working with large collaborative teams.
