Rain returns with a cool front for the end of the week.
HOUSTON — Rain chances remain slim today. As a result, heat will build across Southeast Texas, with high temperatures getting back to the mid-90s. There will be a slight increase in rain chances Wednesday afternoon.
A rare July"cold" front will approach by the end of the week and stall across the area. As a result, rain chances and cloud cover will increase, dropping temperatures below normal as early as Thursday. By Thursday night and Friday, a front will approach from North Texas and stall north of our area. As a result, rain chances will increase into the start of the weekend, bringing a return to slightly cooler weather. Showers and storms will be scattered to widespread for Friday and Saturday, but for the moment, flooding is not a concern.Temperatures will drop below normal into the upper 80s and low 90s for the start of next weekend, thanks to the added rain chances and clouds.
