Hotter weather ahead as we officially head into summer

The current shortage of lifeguards are currently affecting operational hours of pools in Dallas, Garland, Irving and Plano.Clouds will gradually diminish today as Tropical Storm Alberto stays well south. This storm was the reason for the clouds here in North Texas yesterday, even though we didn’t get much rain from it.
Sunshine returns later today with hotter weather. High temperatures will return to the low 90s with a heat index in the upper 90s. By the weekend, highs will be in the upper 90s with a heat index around 105. This hot weather will continue deep into next week.Take the heat seriously. Make sure you stay hydrated and take frequent breaks. Try to do any of your outside work early in the day before it gets too hot. Remember your pets as well! Make sure they have plenty of fresh, cool water.
