Director of programming Heather Haynes will oversee a team of film pickers that includes programmers returning after a mass exit before the 2024 edition.
The Toronto festival said Heather Haynes has been promoted to director of programming, and her team for the 2025 edition includes programmers who abruptly resigned in March amid financial woes and the departure of artistic director Hussain Currimbhoy.
“My colleagues, whose dedication and resilience have been unwavering in the face of our recent challenges, inspire me daily. While our work is far from finished, we are steadfast in our commitment to re-stabilize and secure a future where we continue to support Canadian andfilmmakers, strengthen the documentary industry and serve our devoted audiences with the passion and excellence they deserve,” Haynes said in a statement.
