Si Tyreek Hill y otros jugadores de la NFL desean cambiar al fútbol bandera por un verano para competir en los Juegos Olímpicos, la posibilidad es cada vez más real.
El ejecutivo de la NFL Peter O'Reilly dijo el martes que la liga trabajará con el sindicato de jugadores para permitirle a jugadores actuales y en retiro participar después de que el fútbol bandera estuvo entre los cinco deportes que fueron agregados oficialmente por el Comité Olímpico Internacional para los Juegos de Los Ángeles 2028. “Es la cúspide del deporte global”, indicó O'Reilly durante una reunión de la liga.
“Entonces la oportunidad para que los deportista representen a sus países, entendemos el deseo, lo que han dicho públicamente y seguiremos trabajando con los jugadores, el sindicato y los clubes en el futuro para determinar el proceso y trabajar con USA Football y la IFAF”.
