I-35 is more than a road. It's been sculpting Austin's housing scene for more than 60 years, encouraging endless expansion and making gridlock a lifestyle.

But there's another hidden cost to living in the suburbs, and it can fluctuate as wildly as the price of gas: the time you spend in traffic.
