A driver was killed after being ejected from his vehicle during a crash early Tuesday morning in the McKinley Park neighborhood.

A high-speed chase involving armed robbery suspects ended in a fatal crash early Tuesday morning in McKinley Park, according to Chicago police.Around 2 a.m., Chicago police were investigating robberies in the area of 5500 block of South Pulaski Road when they saw two people they believed to be armed entering a black Lexus sedan.The Lexus sped away and police officers pursued the car, which ran a red light in the 3500 block of South Ashland Avenue and was struck by a Kia SUV, according to police.

The passenger of the Lexus was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office. The driver of the Lexus suffered an injury to his leg. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition. Two weapons were recovered from the scene, police said.The driver of the Kia hurt his hand in the collision. He was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in good condition.
