Eleven area high school volleyball teams won their first-round matches and are headed to the regional semifinals.
Beachside, Bishop Kenny, Bolles, Christ’s Church, Harvest Community, Middleburg, Ponte Vedra, Providence, Ridgeview, St. Johns Country Day and Trinity Christian all notched wins this week. All but Ponte Vedra swept their opening matches. The Sharks outlasted power Tallahassee Leon 3-2, with a 17-15 thriller in the deciding game.
Beachside visits Ridgeview in Region 1-5A, Providence visits Super 6 No. 1 Trinity Christian in 1-3A and Harvest visits Christ’s Church in 1-2A in all-local second-round matchups.
