The Cavaliers were threatening again late in the first quarter, but Steele cornerback Dontae Carter pulled a surefire touchdown out of the hands of a Lake Travis receiver and into his own for an interception. Taking over at their 3-yard line, the Knights slowly marched 94 yards down the field only to come up short on a 4th-and-1 at the Cavaliers’ 3-yard line.
Steele shut out Lake Travis in the third quarter while putting its first points on the board as quarterback Chad Warner threw a pass to Joe Perez, who shook off a tackler near the sideline and took it 38 yards to cut the deficit in half, 14-7.
