Both Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse & Everything Everywhere All At Once explore a multiverse, and a Spider-Verse Easter egg pays homage to that.
An Easter egg from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse confirms that the movie’s creators were very aware of the movie’s similarities with Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All At Once. Both movies share a major similarity in that they involve multiple versions of the same characters across many different realities. However, the similarities extend beyond that as both movies also feature a major scene involving a bagel.
The Deep Dive host Erik Voss took to Twitter to share an interesting Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Easter egg. SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Voss shared a screenshot from the new movie that includes a billboard for a movie titled All of It Always All Over the Place. The billboard is even centered around an image of what appears to be a bagel.
Across the Spider-Verse and EEAAO's Bagel Similarities Explained While both movies contain major scenes involving bagels, Across the Spider-Verse's reference technically came first. The scene is a follow-up to a gag from the original 2018 Into the Spider-Verse where an Alchemax worker gets pelted with a bagel during a chaotic action sequence. In Across the Spider-Verse, it is revealed that the peltee was Dr.
Although the makers of Everything Everywhere All At Once couldn't have known how important that bagel scene would prove to be, their bagel is also massively important to the plot of the movie. The existential threat at the center of the narrative is an Everything Bagel created by Jobu Tupaki . The problem is that the bagel contains literally everything, transforming it into a toroid singularity.
