Millennium Media confirms plot and title details about their just-revealed Hellboy reboot movie. Guillermo Del Toro was the first director to bring comic book character Hellboy to life on movie screens, crafting a pair of films starring Ron Perlman as the titular demonic giant. The franchise then went dormant before being rebooted in 2019 with David Harbour taking over for Perlman.
2019’s Hellboy reboot was unfortunately a major flop, grossing just $55 million at the box office. Nevertheless, Millennium Media is ready to go back to the Hellboy well again. The existence of another coming Hellboy reboot was recently reported, and now Millennium has confirmed certain details, including the film’s title Hellboy: The Crooked Man .
Having Mignola on-board as screenwriter may prove to be an asset for the new film, though it has also been argued that the last Hellboy reboot failed because it tried too hard to be faithful to the comics. Of course, a big part of the Hellboy equation is the actor behind the main character’s demonic makeup, and fans will be watching closely to see whose names come up for the job .
