She also hopes a group of recently hired Tahoe ambassadors — 20 or so high school students who greet visitors arriving at beaches, remind them to leave no trace, and distribute everything from doggy bags to hiking recommendations — will encourage considerate behavior. The ambassadors are part of the larger “Take Care Tahoe” program designed to remind visitors that most people in Tahoe care about the environment.
