Despite appearing briefly in Netflix's coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama Heartstopper, Olivia Colman has revealed she won't be back.
, Colman — who played Sarah Nelson, Nick and David’s mother, and who appeared in brief roles in both seasons — confirmed that her busy schedule had forced her to drop out of the show.
“I couldn’t do number three. I couldn’t fit it in. I feel awful about that,” Colman said, before praising the series. “I feel like I was part of one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever been part of.”, is expected to focus on what happened after Truham Grammar High School’s trip to Europe. It is also anticipated to adapt the novel’s fourth volume, which features both Charlie and Nick attending college.
“Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie,” reads the official synopsis for Season 3. “As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realize that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges.
Based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel series of the same name, Heartstopper is written and created by Oseman with Euros Lyn serving as director.
