Matthew Smith is an advocate for mental health and is planning to run 900 miles to every Premier League stadium in England to raise money.

Matthew Smith was only 10 years old when he lost his brother, Daniel O’Hare, to suicide. Daniel was 19 and had no history of mental health problems, nor had he shown any outward signs of his intention to end his life. His family was devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss, and they are still struggling to understand his choice.

They sold wristbands at soccer clubs that said “if u care share,” and raised over £50,000 for mental health charities. In 2011, the charity was officially registered with three main objectives: prevention, intervention, and support for survivors of suicide loss. For more than a decade, If U Care Share has offered support to people who have lost loved ones to suicide and provided advice and assistance to people who are at risk of killing themselves.
