After a week's worth of questionnaires, dismissals and supermodel summons, five jurors have been been picked, three men and two women, for the Harvey Weinstein trial.
By the time court broke for lunch on Thursday, five jurors had been picked, three men and two women, according to the pool report on jury selection. Two are African American, two are white and one is African American and Latina.
“The issue is not if you feel strongly about those subjects but only if those beliefs would prevent you from deciding the facts on the case," Burke told jurors."You must decide this case on the evidence.” "I am asking you to return to this courtroom… to show cause for why I should not hold you in contempt" Burke said, adding the man is facing 30 days in jail.
More than 60 other prospective jurors were dismissed because of the answers on their questionnaires, leaving a little more than 140 left.
