Harry and Meghan's Post-Royal Portrait Acquired by Princess Kate's Museum

Photographer Misan Harriman's portrait of the duke and duchess has been acquired by Britain's National Portrait Gallery.

A striking portrait of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle taken after their split from the royal family in 2020 has been acquired by Britain's National Portrait Gallery this month, forming part of its permanent collection.The gallery holds Britain's national collection of portraits spanning over 215,000 paintings and photographs.

Newsweek approached representatives of the National Portrait Gallery and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle via email for comment.The portrait of Harry and Meghan is significant because it was taken after their split from the monarchy in 2020. The gallery currently holds five official portraits of the couple in its collection. These were all taken by the photographer Alexi Lubomirski to mark either the couple's engagement in November 2017 or their wedding day in 2018.
