The new CEO most recently worked for a California nonprofit.

Benjamin was most recently CEO of Jewish Long Beach, which serves 15 municipalities throughout southern Los Angeles County and West Orange County in California. During his time in Long Beach he oversaw the merger of the Jewish Federation and Jewish Community Foundation with the Alpert Jewish Community Center. Benjamin also previously served as the executive director of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico and has experience leading other nonprofit organizations.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg is the umbrella organization for the Jewish Community Center. The Jewish Community Center property at 3301 N. Front St., opened in 1956 and was renovated in the 1990s. Some activities are still taking place at that facility. “The Federation has an opportunity to really leverage this transition to the Grass Campus and to elevate its profile as a Jewish communal institution and an organization in service to the greater good of the broader community,” Zach says. “It’s important to me to do what I can to help the Federation and the community to meet this moment.”2 women’s clothing brands open stores next to each other at central Pa.
