People are also reading… White, an assistant coach at BCHS last year, takes over after the departure of Leon Douglas, a former University of Alabama basketball legend and NBA player who coached the Jaguars last season. The re-hiring of White is one of several changes in the Barbour County coaching staff. Corbitt confirmed Rebecca Kidd has been hired as the new girls basketball and volleyball head coach, replacing John Douglas, Leon’s brother, in both. Daniel Powell will assist White in boys basketball and also be the junior varsity head boys coach.

“It feels pretty good ,” White said. “It’s something I am used to. I am getting a chance to correct some things that were done in the past few years.”
