H-E-B began testing tap-to-pay options at a Central Market store in Dallas earlier this year and is now accepting the methods at other locations.
H-E-B has begun accepting tap-to-pay options at its sole Central Market store in San Antonio — and employees say it’s coming to the company’s namesake stores soon, too. Shoppers now can pay with digital wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay and tap-to-pay cards at all of the San Antonio -based company’s Central Market stores, including its location at 4821 Broadway. Visa , Discover , Mastercard and American Express cards, as well as Central Market ’s Visa signature card, can be used.
Apple Pay and Google Pay at H-E-B? The grocer is testing options at this store. The move comes after H-E-B launched a pilot program to test the payment options at its Central Market store at 5750 E. Lovers Lane in Dallas this summer. Until then, the company had declined to accept digital wallets and tap-to-pay cards, as had Walmart, its chief rival in the San Antonio area. Customers have been clamoring for the options, which they say are fast, convenient and secure.
