Andres Gimenez and Nick Sandlin confirm trade to Blue Jays.
DALLAS — The Guardians have traded Gold Glove second baseman Andres Gimenez and right-hander Nick Sandlin to Toronto. Gimenez and Sandlin both confirmed the trade.Gimenez, acquired as part of the Francisco Lindor trade with the Mets in January of 2021, just finished his fourth season with the Guardians. He has won three straight Gold Gloves, but his offense has dropped off the last two seasons following his breakout year in 2022.
Mitchell, drafted in 2024, hit .289 with four homers and 13 RBI for Dunedin in the Florida Class A League. Gimenez was also a threat on the bases. In the last three years, he stolen 80 bases, including 30 each the last two seasons.
