Drag queen Jenna Tea shared what her 89-year-old great-grandmother said to her after she came out as a trans woman."Well, it's your life, honey. You have to do what makes you happy. It's something that we have to adjust to and sometimes, it's hard for other people but they're not living your life, you are," Katherine began in her message. "It's kind of their problem to re-adjust and so, the best thing is to put it out there, deal with it and it is what it is.
"I never knew I could come out to her because I always thought, 'She's older and I don't know if I'll ever be able to share that part of me with her and have it be OK,'" Tea recalled thinking. "You don't expect that from someone who is her age.""I think she was the one who was the most accepting out of everyone I've ever talked to, to be honest. So it was really shocking," Tea said.
