WASHINGTON - Authorities in Washington, D.C. are looking for suspects believed to be involved in a hate crime.
Robert, who asked his last name not be used, said the assault started with slurs and a reference to monkeypox.Robert says he and his partner tried to ignore the group of about five teen boys and two girls. “We must stand up for our friends and neighbors, especially right now when there is too much anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric sweeping our nation,” saidRobert and his partner say whether it’s misinformation around monkeypox or something else, they’ve noticed more hate in recent months.
