In a letter to Commissioner Kent Davis, Gov. Ivey said if the commissioner notifies her office by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, his resignation will be effective September 30.

Gov. Ivey says the changes come after alleged mishandling of the ARPA grant program by proposing uses of grant funds that would be ineligible under U.S. Treasury rules and regulations and/or state law or policy. Action 8 News has reached out to the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs for comment and we are waiting to hear back.
