Google Teams With the Internet Archive to Revive Cache Feature

Google search results will now show users a direct link to the Wayback Machine to view previous versions of web pages.

What was once dead now lives again through the power of the Internet Archive. Seven months after killing the ability to see old versions of websites through Google, the search engine has partnered with the archive and is directly linking to its cached versions of websites on the Wayback Machine.

It was a throwaway comment made on X, not a promise. Miraculously, however, it’s come to pass. According to aon the Internet Archive, users can see Wayback Machine links by doing a search as normal and then clicking the three dots next to the URL in the results. This will open up a new tab on the browser. Click “more about this page” to see a link to the Wayback archives.
