The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating a near-miss incident at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) involving a private jet carrying the Gonzaga University men's basketball team and a Delta aircraft. Key Lime Air Flight 563 was directed by air traffic controllers to hold short of a runway, but proceeded to cross the hold bars as a Delta aircraft was taking off. Air traffic controllers instructed the pilots of the Gonzaga plane to stop, which they did immediately, preventing a collision. No injuries were reported.

A plane operated by Key Lime Air nearly collided with a Delta aircraft that was taking off around 4:30 p.m. No one was injured. “We understand that the incident at LAX is under investigation and we will review this information as it becomes available," the university wrote Monday afternoon in a statement to KOMO News. "Our team members aboard the aircraft were unaware of the situation as it occurred and we are grateful that the incident ended safely for all.”
