Jacob Lewis and his older sister were returning from Swift’s Friday night show at NRG Stadium, when their car stalled on the shoulder of Interstate 69 near Shepherd Drive. Lewis got out to push the car and was hit by a suspected drunk driver early Saturday.Steve said Jacob’s sister suffered minor bruises and scrapes in the crash.
“He had already excelled at theater, choir and dance during his high school years, and we looked forward to new exciting adventures and successes to come,” his father wrote.Steve said Jacob was passionate about his studies, friends and hobbies. Jacob enjoyed video games, reading, and loved making music along with listening to it.
Alan Hayes, 34, is charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to stop and render aid after allegedly fleeing the scene, according to the court documents. After the incident, a bystander chased Hayes, who was arrested by police after a foot chase, police said.
