Giulia SWB Zagato: Alfa’s GTAm gets a one-off makeover
This is the Giulia SWB Zagato, a one-off car designed to celebrate 100 years of collaboration between the Zagato coachbuilder and Alfa Romeo. It’s based on a manual Giulia Quadrifoglio that Zagato has upgraded to GTAm spec, keeping the manual transmission.
Style-wise – the bit you’re most interested in – the Giulia SWB Zagato takes in DNA from Alfa’s historic SZ models. Alfa aficionados will know the SZ series also inspired the furrowed brow of the brand’s new Tonale SUV. The design process itself was carried out as a joint effort from the beginning, with the Zagato team collaborating with head of Alfa Romeo design Alejandro Mesonero’s team from the outset. After that the project was Zagato alone.
The production of the car was completed entirely by the Italian coachbuilder – with the atelier is keen to point out that the Alfa Romeo badge on the front of the Giulia SWB Zagato is there to illustrate the connection between this car and the Alfa Romeo S.Z.As you’d expect, Zagato’s latest one-off has already been sold. After further photoshoots, the Giulia will go to German Zagato collector who also owns an 8C Competizione.
