Players can now snag Shiny Keldeo and Shiny Meltan in Pokemon games, but there’s a catch. To unlock these rare Pokemon, players need to complete the Pokedex for Galar, the Isle of Armor, and the Crown Tundra.
Players now have a chance to acquire Shiny Keldeo and Shiny Meltan, but it requires a significant undertaking. To obtain Shiny Keldeo, players must complete the Pokédex for Galar, the Isle of Armor, and the Crown Tundra in the games tab. This is a substantial task, but Shiny Meltan is slightly more attainable, demanding players complete the Kanto Pokédex. As customary with these distributions, previously transferred Pokémon from other games won't count.
For instance, if you transferred a Caterpie to the National Dex, it won't contribute to the Galar Pokédex. You must catch a Caterpie from a copy of the game and transfer that one. Across these three regions, players need to catch a total of 820 Pokémon, including 400 from Galar, 210 from the Isle of Armor, and 210 from the Crown Tundra. While this may seem daunting, Mythical Pokémon are designed to be exceptionally rare. Typically, the sole way to obtain a Mythical Pokémon is through special events like retailer or online distributions. Shiny Mythical Pokémon are even more elusive, making this the first opportunity for players to acquire Shiny Keldeo. Shiny Meltan has been offered before, but this presents a welcome chance for those who still need one. A positive aspect of this distribution is the lack of an announced end date, allowing players to progress at their own pace. For players already nearing completion of the Pokédex in any of these games, this serves as a compelling incentive. It's important to note that not all Pokémon are usable in all games. Once players fulfill the requirements, Shiny Meltan can be used in the games
