Property crime statistics show property crime rates in 2023 — specifically shoplifting and commercial burglaries — soared after the COVID-19 pandemic, higher than at any time since at least 2000, according toDemocrats say they’re hearing from voters about crime, and some of them are breaking with Newsom to support Prop. 36.
